Sonora, TX - Avery Island, LA
April 16 - 23
Disclaimer:
This week, Rob did the commentary, however, he did it in the wrong format, so there WILL be Typos. See Yu!!!-until he caught on. This part is below.
4/19: To quote King George the III's diary: "Nothing of importance happened today." He wrote that on July 4, 1776, and i'm writing it now. the 2 things we did are in order, and I quote.
1. We went 2 the Alamo, and I remember the Alamo, but I certainly remember it being bigger. Most of it was devoted 2 a visitor's center, with merchandise ranging from a comic book that looks like it was drawn by a 3-year old, 2 a refridgerator magnet that doubles as a pen.
2. We went 2 a pizza hut, were I ate a medium pizza with bacon, ham, pepperoni, and sausage.
That's it. That's All. Most Boring Day. EVER!
BCNU, Rob
P.S. I just remembered that we also bought some used (really good) cowboy boots. Yee-Haw!!!
4/23: Today is the 23rd (I spent the missing days in an asylum, A.K.A. A great RV park, complete with pool, And, best of all, a set of waterslides!!!) and we went on a tour of (dun-dun-dum) the Tobasco sauce factory! There was an 11 minute movie on Tobasco sauce. We walked through the Tobasco sauce factory (where they put out 1/2 a million bottles per DAY), then went 2 the Tobasco sauce museum, picked up our free samples of Tobasco sauce, and headed 2 the general store, where we bought some Chipotle Tobasco sauce, Tobasco brand Chili mix, Cheese biscuits made with Tobasco sauce, a CD of Zydeco music (brought 2 U by Tobasco), a pair of Tobasco boxer shorts( or "hot pants" as I call them), AND some potatoes Au gratin soup mix (with a free bottle of Tobasco sauce).
As U can probably tell, I'm just crazy about Tobasco sauce, (seeing as I used the word Tobasco 9 times in one sentence) and I had a lot of fun watching them bottle it. The Tobasco company was started by Mr. McIlhenny in 1868, when he was given some peppers from mexico as a gift. He made it into a sauce and gave it 2 friends, who liked it so much that they suggested he market it. Originally he was going 2 call it something that translates 2 "the little bayou" but a bayou is essentially a swamp, and his father didn't think that "The little swamp hot sauce" was going 2 sell so he called it tobasco, wich means "hot and humid". Fitting, huh?
Also today, we went 2 a great swamp, chock full of alligators, giant swamp rats, snowy Egrets, and a tour guide named David.
well it's late, so it's time 2 weigh today on the scales of justice!
Swamp
\ Tobasco
Oh well, the scales R uneven, BUT...
